Due to difficulty obtaining books because the library is not easily available and sharing may not be the best option, I am reducing the summer reading to one novel. There are many free novels available online.
Advanced Placement English
Students wishing to be enrolled in Advanced Placement English at Helias Catholic High School for the school year 2020-2021 need to do the following:
1) Receive teacher approval
2) Complete summer reading by August 4, 2020
Late submission of summer reading may result in removal from the course.
Summer Reading-1 Novels
Students should read:
one novel of your choice. The novel does not need to be from the below list. It should be a novel you feel has literary merit.
OR
one novel selected from the following: (Please do not read a novel that you have read prior to this time.)

The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf by Kelley Mooney

Discuss the quote in two well-developed paragraphs. You will turn in a total of two paragraphs.
The paragraphs should be typed.
All reading should be completed by August 4, 2020.
